Volunteer Opportunities

Day Camp is exclusively dependent on volunteers just like you. Led by a volunteer staff team, there are opportunities to work at any of our 25 day camps located all across Eastern Missouri.

By sharing your talents and interests, your camper(s) are guaranteed placement in the Day Camp if you are accepted as a volunteer.

Your camper(s) attend camp for half price if you volunteer full time.

Part-time volunteers are also needed.

Family Camp depends on the talents and commitment of people just like you. Help out in program areas such as arts and crafts, campfires or games. Those certified in lifeguarding, small crafts and archery are also needed for family camp.

Adults who volunteer a day or more to help at family camp attend for free. Your family members receive priority placement to attend family camp and you will feel good about helping to provide this unique family camp experience.

Are you creative and imaginative? Do you like to work with children and adults? Do you have any special talents, interests and training you’d like to share?

Adult volunteers serve as advisors at Camp Sampler, program specialists for those with special skills or talents to share, or as assistant unit leaders at general camp sessions. Plus, for custodial parents or legal guardians volunteering for a full program session, your first child attends camp for free and additional campers are half-price.

Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors can serve as a Senior Leader at Camp Sampler. While volunteering, girls assist in planning and preparing for camp, develop leadership skills while assisting with camper supervision, help teach fun camp activities and can earn 30 hours or more in volunteer service hours.

No experience or special skills are needed – training is provided and required. Training's take place at the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri Service Center.

Choose one of the following training session dates:

  • April 28 6-9 pm
  • May 9 9-noon
  • May 11  6-9 pm
  • May 20 6-9 pm
