Dessert First is Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri’s (GSEM) annual fundraising event. The event is an elegant fundraising dinner where guests get to enjoy the fun of tasting and judging desserts uniquely created with Girl Scout Cookies and prepared by local chefs.  The event also honors four awardees who embody the mission of Girl Scouts.  All proceeds from the event support GSEM programs that build girls of courage, confidence and character.

The 2013 Dessert First event scheduled for February 21, 2013 was cancelled due to inclement weather in the St. Louis area. Though it was unfortunate to cancel this event, thanks to our generous supporters, GSEM was still able to raise over $115,000 to support our mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character.

Our sponsors and event supporters help to fund some of our essential leadership development programs and experiences we provide to girls, like Challenge & Change, First Robotics, Project Anti-Violence Education (PAVE), Science and Engineering Day Camp, and Girl Scouts Beyond Bars.
