Online/Home Study Courses

To accommodate the scheduling needs of members, Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri offers some courses in a home study and/or online format.

These courses provide the same basic information individuals would receive if they attended a classroom presentation. However, the home study format does not provide the interaction and feedback experienced in a classroom setting.

Those who choose to complete an online or home study course are strongly encouraged to attend Neighborhood meetings and other gatherings where they can benefit from the experience and knowledge of other Girl Scout adults.

Courses for New Leaders
See Leader Preparation Courses for information about online courses required of new Leaders. These courses include:
  • Girl Scouting 101
  • Introduction to Girl Scouting
  • Journey Immersion Workshops

GSEM Introduction to Girl Scouts can also be taken as a home study course or through a course listed in the GSEM Lead & Learn.
  • Request a home study from your District Home Study Coordinator or Volunteer Development Manager (listed in every issue of the GSEM Lead & Learn) or Neighborhood Education Chair

Campfires and Pressurized Fuels

Campfires and Pressurized Fuels certification is required of at least one adult using or supervising the use of pressurized fuel lanterns or stoves at a Girl Scout activity.

  • Download the workbook
  • Complete the study pages
  • Submit completed study pages, with a completed adult education registration card, to your District Home Study Coordinator or District Volunteer Development Manager, listed in every issue of the Lead & Learn.
