For 16 days, starting February 28, multiple Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri troops from the Union area will take over Philly’s Pizza Parlor to set up a Girl Scout Cookie Store, located at 118 S. Oak Street.

Customers will be able to buy all eight Girl Scout Cookie varieties – Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Do-si-dos, Trefoils, Savannah Smiles, Dulce de Leches and Thank U Berry Munches – for $4 per box.

Cookie store hours will be Monday-Friday from 4–8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am-8 pm until March 15, 2014.

Proceeds from the cookie program stay within the community to benefit local girls. Troops use the money for everything from field trips to community service projects. With these funds, Girl Scouts can also deliver programs for girls, provide training for adult volunteers and maintain our three local Girl Scout camps.

The cookie program is also the most comprehensive money management program for girls. Knowing how to make, manage, spend, save and invest money is a skill that extends far beyond the cookie season. Many successful women leaders report that their first entrepreneurial experience came from selling Girl Scout Cookies.

If you want to locate other area cookie booths, we can help – just visit our website, www.girlscoutsem.org/cookielocator to find a cookie booth near you. Customers may also donate cookies to the USO of Missouri via the Troop to Troop Program. In 2013, customers donated more than 36,000 boxes of cookies to military personnel.
